What Will People Say

"What will people say" Is a phrase that has actually ruined the lives of many people.
Listen to me, some people will be happy with you, some will never.
You can't make everyone happy. Whenever we want to do something for own interest, the first thing that always comes to our mind is "Log kiya khaey gay".These words have killed many dreams and gave birth to mental traumas.
Once I met a girl in a bus and asked about her subjects. She told me that she wanted to become a psychologist but her parents didn’t allow her because of this mentality that people will say " Paaglo ki Doctor ban rahi hai”. And then she had to change her field. This is something really pathetic.
Similarly, if a boy wants to become a photographer, painter or wants to adopt any profession, same fear appears before him. If someone wants to get marry out of caste, this fear somehow comes to mind first. If a girl or boy wants to get higher education after a certain age or not getting married, people will start asking and taunting unnecessarily. A beautiful saying is
 "Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner." -Lao Tzu

Basically, you can’t keep their mouth shut! Better to live for yourself, not for others. Your parents are working day and night to make your life better, not these people. So, instead of worrying about what people say, you should be more focused on what could you do to make your parents proud.
Now a days when our decisions are criticized, we immediately get upset or hurt. But on other hand as soon as we hear that the neighbor's son has decided to become an artist, or the aunt's daughter wants to learn piano, we begin to question their choices and ethics. Neither we should question others about their personal decisions nor we should care about others comments about our own decisions.
This is the habit of some people that even if you do something good or bad, they will keep on talking unnecessarily. You can’t satisfy them in any situation. The purpose of our life is left behind. As long as we care about other people, we will never be able to do something productive. This is a bitter reality that our generation have been ruined because of this one sentence “what will people say”. May ALLAH save our generation and keeps everyone away from such people who just make fun of you in every situation.
